Ordinary Membership

IFERD offers membership under three broad categories, namely Ordinary Membership, Affiliate Membership, and Honorary Membership. The admission, rights, duties, and obligations of Ordinary Members shall be governed by the rules and regulations of IFERD and the applicable provisions of the Companies Act 2013. Ordinary membership is open for individuals, institutions and body corporate. Eligibility for Ordinary Membership for an individual requires a minimum of three years of active association with IFERD as a Fellow or Associate Member, and for an institution or organization or body corporate needs a minimum of five years association with IFERD as an Institutional or Corporate Member. However, in exceptional cases involving highly committed and distinguished members, the minimum duration requirement may be relaxed at the discretion of the IFERD Secretariat. Total number of ordinary members shall not exceed two hundred (200) at any point of time.

Tenure of ordinary membership shall be for a period of two (2) years from the date of admission. Existing members demonstrating continued commitment to the objectives of the Federation may be re-admitted for subsequent terms, subject to the policies of IFERD. Upon cessation of Ordinary Membership, individuals, institutions, and corporate entities may continue their association with IFERD as Affiliate Members, subject to the rules governing Affiliate Membership. Ordinary Membership shall be granted to eligible individuals, institutions, organizations, or body corporate upon receipt of their written consent to serve as an ordinary member of IFERD and to participate in the IFERD Assembly. Membership may be terminated in case of resignation, misconduct or non-compliance with IFERD rules. Ordinary Members shall enjoy the opportunity to become part of the supreme governing authority of IFERD, namely the IFERD Assembly, and shall have the right to vote and participate in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Federation.

They shall be entitled to contribute to the formulation of policies and strategic decisions for the effective functioning, governance, and long-term development of IFERD. Ordinary Members may also be considered for appointment to the Board of Directors, subject to the applicable rules and provisions of the Federation. In addition, Ordinary Members shall be recognized as governing members of the Federation and shall have the opportunity to contribute to society through active participation in IFERD initiatives, programs, and activities. They shall further be entitled to all rights, privileges, and benefits available to Affiliate Members of the Federation.
