Youth Empowerment and Leadership Council
Youth Empowerment and Leadership Council (YELC) aims to inspire and empower young individuals to become responsible, capable, and visionary leaders. The Council provides a dynamic platform for youth engagement through leadership development programs, innovation challenges, sports, cultural activities, and community initiatives. It seeks to nurture creativity, teamwork, and global awareness among youth, preparing them to actively contribute to national development and social transformation. To ensure effective outreach and service from the local to the global level, the Council shall function at the International, National, State, and District levels. Youth Empowerment and Leadership Council has been established to achieve the following objectives:
- To empower youth by fostering leadership qualities, confidence, and a sense of responsibility towards society.
- To promote active participation of youth in educational, social, and developmental initiatives.
- To develop and nurture leadership skills through training programs, workshops, mentoring, and experiential learning opportunities.
- To encourage innovation, creativity, and problem-solving abilities among young individuals.
- To facilitate platforms for youth engagement, dialogue, and collaboration at local, national, and global levels.
- To promote civic awareness, social responsibility, and ethical values among youth.
- To support youth-led initiatives, startups, and community-driven projects.
- To enhance employability and professional readiness through skill development and capacity-building programs.
- To encourage volunteerism and community service for social transformation.
- To identify and nurture emerging youth leaders across diverse fields and regions.
- To promote inclusivity and equal opportunities for youth from diverse and underserved backgrounds.
- To collaborate with educational institutions, organizations, and youth bodies for joint initiatives.
- To create opportunities for national and international exposure, exchange, and leadership engagement.
- To perform such other functions as may be assigned by the General Assembly, Board of Directors, or the Secretariat from time to time.
Youth Empowerment and Leadership Council may constitute domain-based Committees to promote leadership development, youth engagement, skill enhancement, innovation, and community participation among young individuals. The following Committees have been constituted at present:
- Youth Leadership and Capacity Advancement Committee
- Youth Civic and Social Engagement Committee
- Youth Excellence and Recognition Committee
- Youth Wellness and Psychological Well-being Committee
